Rain creates an ominous overcast to the day ahead. Although careful preparations were made for a seamless morning commute, my attempts to a perfect 'hump day' came to an exhausting halt. Shortly after leaving my child in the care of her teachers, my vehicle completely stopped going forward, or in reverse for that matter, in the middle of a busy intersection of Kansas City. I prayed it would just start working again. I wished it had never happened. Life could be worse, I thought. At least I has an umbrella with me.
The sound of cars honking and aggressive commuting workers haunted my ears. Tears in my eyes, and a racing heart; I gathered the courage to call a tow truck, fearing the price tag I was about to familiarize with myself. I called the police, only moments later seeing in my rear view mirror a black tinted car creeping up behind me, and in an instant lights flashing alerting the other drivers away. Their fast response was appreciated, but I have never been fond of seeing red and blue lights flashing behind my vehicle.
Not much time passed, and the tow truck appeared in the distance, lights flashing like here comes the band! I was instructed to board the large vehicle with all my personal belongings in hand. at this point, the sound of the country music blaring in the hub of his truck was soothing, yet on any other day would have been rather annoying to hear. The sweet serenity and dryness of my home offered a simple comfort. The rest of the search begins from here. Warranty calls to a familiar business owner, regrading a recently replaced transmission begin to take effect, and I am simply wishing how I had been the lotto winner!
