I believe in the good in society. With the gap growing exponentially between the poor and the wealthy, the middle class is struggling to reach a tipping point. Many would like to help, and many are already helping, but the needs in the lower half continue deepening, and we are far from what our society could consider as being out of a recession. I have watched many videos of touching moments where someone stops to help someone else, whether they look like they are homeless or on drugs, but it can be quite astonishing to see the amount of people that continue to walk past the issue, without blinking an eye. How many times, have each of us been capable of walking past the issue or person deeply in need of help, and never realizing it? How many of our friends and family fall into the 18-25 year old group, who fall the most starving and living in strife, and we never knew or found a reason to help? I recall hearing that statistic that college students are "poor" during their college years, but I had no idea, until recently, that that age group is the one struggling the most, with younger children being the second largest group. I want to make an impact, knowing that their are initiatives, but when can i look aback and say I know i have made a difference. I know I am not the only one that thinks like this, and once aligning my value with the people that are here to make a difference, I know that the good in society can thrive.
