family level of education and children

I found that the education level of families is a major determining factor of a child's success with early education and more in their life. Some of the research I have done promotes that concept, as well as confirms the statistical difference between what families that have a higher education do with their children. It would be interesting to find if more interesting to look into why some higher educated families have students that fail in academics, and also why some students from lower educated families have children that succeed exponentially in academics.

Art Therpay

An interesting topic I am currently researching is art therapy for children. This is an interesting topic I would like to explore more. Through the current research I am doing on this topic I have found some information how art therapy is used to help adults overcome traumatic experiences these adults experienced while in their childhood by using methodology and best practices. It is also important to look at how this technique is used for refugee children, this would definitely be a more interesting topic to study not only with children in our country, but also with children in different countries that have experienced war, or something along those lines.

the sociology behind it

Many external factors affect early childhood education that promotes a child's ability to learn and creates a positive outlook  in the child's perception of education. It has always been argues that a child's environment directly contributes to their perception of education, but the little research I have done on this, does state that the cultural background is a major factor on how the child perceives school. It can be cultural as in what country they are from , or their family culture here in the states. I am more so interested in learning about the sociology factor on student in the states, but it would be equally as interesting to study about those effects through different cultures and countries.

the psych behind it

There is a lot of psychology wrapped up in many concepts that we believe to this day. This is specifically true to the education side of the idea I am researching. there are many articles promoting this concept and explaining further that promoting early childhood education prevents poor external behaviors later in their life. This concept is proven and promoted by many of the articles.

Early impact

Does early child hood education best practices have an impact on the child's perception of early childhood education? From the brief research I have done on this project, there are many studies promoting the best practices that align with early childhood education and how they are to increase opportunity for children early on.  There are also several articles that examine why they are against "best prectices" because  they can not confirm that these practices do or do not create change.

Essential Oils for health

I have jumped on the bandwagon of using essential oils. I started to use them when my daughter would get a cold, and I would boil eucalyptus oil and peppermint on the stove to get the sent in the air and allow her sinus to open up. This opened my eyes to many other uses for the oils. I recently found it interesting regarding the oil called "Theives" that was supposedly used during the time of the bubonic plague, where looters covered themselves in this oil, and would go around stealing from the dying. They say using this oil still prevents colds and other airborne diseases. I have seen a more commonality of using these oils, and I think its great. A lot of these basic plants were used in early remedy for ailments by our ancestors, although at that time they were not created to an oil and sold in cute jars. I have read before that the percentage of people using these oils are in highest percent in the very educated section of the population, something to look into at a later time.

Early Childhood

I am passionate about understanding techniques that have been proven to promote healthy early childhood education. There are many statistics published regarding the probability of how a child views learning based on their early years of education. This time period is what can shape their beliefs in themselves and how they perceive education. Its exciting to learn how well some of the processes I use with my child are they type that are promoted in early childhood education.

As much as it is a reaffirmation that I am taking the right steps to develop my child's learning and perception of why learning is important, it can also be disheartening when I see other children not have these opportunities, or not have parent focused on what is important for them to learn at an early age. This is something I would need to research more, but from the general overview I have of this, it is something that can be helped as long as there is access to that child in need.

Well Rounded Child

I am passionate about learning how to develop a well rounded child. I use introspection to base my decisions and parenting techniques on our daily routine.I am constantly reflecting on how I remember my mother parenting me, all of the good and the bad. I have read through several parenting books, on how to deal with toddler, the good, bad, and ugly temper tantrums. This learning experience has caused me to grow in many ways as well.

The growth of myself through my new understanding has been tremendous. I have learned to remain more consistent. If I say I will do it, I actually pull through. If I make a promise, especially to my daughter, I want to make sure that she doesn't remember me promising to play later, or later this and that, and I actually follow up on those promises. I have utilized these techniques in my professional life as well. This has caused me to be a more reliable employee and coworker.

The Power of a Magical Christmas

I love how entertaining it can be for a small child to believe that they must behave well in advance of Christmas. This magical belief cannot be swayed until they reach a young age of dawning wisdom. I recall when I had realized I lost that sense of wonder and magic.

I was seven and it dawned on me in the cafeteria at breakfast, while waiting for the first class of the day to start, that I had been believing in something that the other children did not believe any more. this moment was monumental for me growing up. It makes me wonder how my mother felt when I told her I didn't believe in Santa anymore.

My daughter is still a firm believer in the magic of Christmas, so much that even during the summer days, she mentions her questions of the whimsical magical man. The idea sprung to her mind when looking through a Christmas book about the Elf of the Shelf, which is extremely cute in itself. It's cute to see her growing through these stages, but I can also see how quickly things turn through her mind. Soon she will read the sentences I read to her, knowing and absorbing information far before I have to explain it to her anymore.

Dealing With It

Developing in the workplace is a roller coaster. Everyone around us is attempting to succeed while fitting the mold, yet remaining themselves in a world full of opportunity. Each jumping toward that goal so high on the corporate ladder. It's not often you are faced with change, especially a cultural change within an organization, but every once in a while that fearful "c" word comes to surface. After stepping out of the grieving phase of change, an employee or person of change, can begin to experience the new system, or in this case, culture, with new admiration. I'm trying to come to terms with the compliments and praise that I use to struggle to hear. In the profit world, most situations were difficult at best; perhaps it wasn't the profit world, but the engineering world, and I am not an engineer! In this new light, compliments are so easily given, that the fog of satisfaction no longer has a lasting effect. I am not hazed any longer, so I do not know what that could mean for what challenges might lay ahead.

This weekend

I am tied to networks and databases. One day without one or the other, crippling an organization from growth. Today, the twitch to check email is an uncontrollable urge. The thought to view the newest email leaving each member of the group standed, feeling desolate and useless. I feel an urge to unwind, to disconnect, to set sail away. The move away from the hustle of city life. Leave the morming commute out of my sunrise and the evening drive out of my dusk, I will find that vibration, connnection, and calmness this weekend.

Morning Commute

Rain creates an ominous overcast to the day ahead. Although careful preparations were made for a seamless morning commute, my attempts to a perfect 'hump day' came to an exhausting halt. Shortly after leaving my child in the care of her teachers, my vehicle completely stopped going forward, or in reverse for that matter, in the middle of a busy intersection of Kansas City. I prayed it would just start working again. I wished it had never happened. Life could be worse, I thought. At least I has an umbrella with me.
The sound of cars honking and aggressive commuting workers haunted my ears. Tears in my eyes, and a racing heart; I gathered the courage to call a tow truck, fearing the price tag I was about to familiarize with myself. I called the police, only moments later seeing in my rear view mirror a black tinted car creeping up behind me, and in an instant lights flashing alerting the other drivers away. Their fast response was appreciated, but I have never been fond of seeing red and blue lights flashing behind my vehicle.
Not much time passed, and the tow truck appeared in the distance, lights flashing like here comes the band! I was instructed to board the large vehicle with all my personal belongings in hand. at this point, the sound of the country music blaring in the hub of his truck was soothing, yet on any other day would have been rather annoying to hear. The sweet serenity and dryness of my home offered a simple comfort. The rest of the search begins from here. Warranty calls to a familiar business owner, regrading a recently replaced transmission begin to take effect, and I am simply wishing how I had been the lotto winner!

Freewrite

I believe in the good in society. With the gap growing exponentially between the poor and the wealthy, the middle class is struggling to reach a tipping point. Many would like to help, and many are already helping, but the needs in the lower half continue deepening, and we are far from what our society could consider as being out of a recession. I have watched many videos of touching moments where someone stops to help someone else, whether they look like they are homeless or on drugs, but it can be quite astonishing to see the amount of people that continue to walk past the issue, without blinking an eye. How many times, have each of us been capable of walking past the issue or person deeply in need of help, and never realizing it? How many of our friends and family fall into the 18-25 year old group, who fall the most starving and living in strife, and we never knew or found a reason to help? I recall hearing that statistic that college students are "poor" during their college years, but I had no idea, until recently, that that age group is the one struggling the most, with younger children being the second largest group. I want to make an impact, knowing that their are initiatives, but when can i look aback and say I know i have made a difference. I know I am not the only one that thinks like this, and once aligning my value with the people that are here to make a difference, I know that the good in society can thrive.

INFJ Personality Type

I have formerly taken this personality quiz, believing myself to be a ENFJ personality type. Upon retaking the test, I scored as an INFJ, which is making a little more sense.  I'm not sure if my original answers were not entirely true, and I answered more accurately this time, but I do feel a sense of connection to the INFJ type, because I never truly felt I was accurately an ENFJ.

I recently started working in a non profit organization, and have found that helping others has been the path I wanted to take in my career, for a long time coming. This is true for INFJ.

This also states that this personality trait can have difficulty expressing their most true thoughts because of the conflicts in personality, which I have found over time to be a frustrating aspect of my personality. Especially when I am soo close to many, who have their minds made up on everything. Or have an opinion and decision for everything.

I truly do feel a connection to being a "system builder." I am currently undergoing work processes to change systems and build some that did not exist to the organization before.

I have many comparisons that agree with this personality type, but none that contrast with it. I'm thankful I had to take this personality type again, because this was very interesting!
